2024 Senate Election Predictions, 4-21-2024, Updates On The 2024 Senate Races

This past week had a few notable updates regarding the Senate that are worth noting. The polling is showing that the GOP candidates are running very close to Democratic incumbents or frontrunners in states like New Jersey and Wisconsin, while the situation in Arizona with Kari Lake has the potential to backslide into Republican failure further down-ballot. The trial regarding embattled Senator Bob Menendez has the potential to drag his wife into taking the fall for the both of them with the Senator facing steep legal odds in his bid for another Senate term. Let’s get to the stories.             … Continue reading 2024 Senate Election Predictions, 4-21-2024, Updates On The 2024 Senate Races

Cabinet, 4-14-2024, The Early Conversations Around Barbara Lee (D-CA) As HUD Secretary Don’t Seem That Promising

The California Senate primary had two main losers beyond the usual downfall story of Congresswoman Katie Porter’s future star being shattered by allegations of “rigging” elections, not knowing the difference between Adam Schiff using his dark money tactics better than Porter and actual rigging. The second loser was Barbara Lee who petitioned Gov. Gavin Newsom that not choosing a black woman for the Senate seat to replace Dianne Feinstein was something involving racism, the black woman in the scenario usually being her. Obviously, that didn’t happen, and it appears that in a strange bout of irony, Californians overwhelmingly preferred two … Continue reading Cabinet, 4-14-2024, The Early Conversations Around Barbara Lee (D-CA) As HUD Secretary Don’t Seem That Promising

Late Week Election Round-Up, 4-14-2024, Updates From The House, Senate, and Governor Elections (2024 and 2026 Elections)

There were some stories to conclude the past week in politics regarding the House, Senate, and Governor races happening in 2024 and 2026. In the House, the GOP’s mainstream fundraising arm has announced the battleground candidates that they were supporting versus the other members who were more solid in their bets for re-election. In the Senate, a myriad of polling is showing competitive Senate races in places where the races shouldn’t theoretically be competitive. Regarding the gubernatorial elections, North Carolina’s election is showing signs of movement as the baggage surrounding Lt. Governor Mark Robinson appears to be roosting around his … Continue reading Late Week Election Round-Up, 4-14-2024, Updates From The House, Senate, and Governor Elections (2024 and 2026 Elections)

Late Week Election Round-Up, 4-7-2024, Updates From The Past Week (House, Senate, Governor, Etc.)

There have been a number of election stories that have caught my attention this week as I have attempted to comment on a variety of different stories encompassing the political realm. In the House, more information about the special election regarding Colorado’s now-vacant 4th Congressional District is becoming known. New polling is also available that gives reason for both parties to be optimistic and to be negative at the same time. In the Senate, Democrats are lamenting having to fend off a potential Bob Menendez Independent Senate bid as it could mean thousands of votes taken from the Democratic ticket … Continue reading Late Week Election Round-Up, 4-7-2024, Updates From The Past Week (House, Senate, Governor, Etc.)

Democratic Banter #341, Updates On Democratic Controversies (The Biden Fundraiser, Anti-Semitism, and More Rappers In Congress?)

When thinking about why older Americans usually step away from the Democratic Party, it stems from the difference between natural aging and the messaging that the party uses when appealing to voters. Democratic messaging often appeals to selfish morality such as choice, pleasure, and indulging in base level instincts at the cost of higher level discussions of philosophy, human nature, and what is considered good and proper. This isn’t to excuse the grievance politics of right-wing populism used by the Trumpian wing of the GOP, but the Democratic Party traditionally uses the “my body, my choice”, casual profanity, accusations of … Continue reading Democratic Banter #341, Updates On Democratic Controversies (The Biden Fundraiser, Anti-Semitism, and More Rappers In Congress?)

2024 Senate Election Predictions, 3-31-2024, Tammy Murphy (D-NJ) Drops Senate Bid, Andy Kim (D-NJ) Becomes Frontrunner In Senate Race

There have been two major stories happening in the Senate this week on the Democratic side of the aisle worth discussing this week. The Democratic primary in New Jersey appears to be settling around one particular candidate after weeks of turmoil surrounded the establishment heir in one of the most surprising victories for the average working-class voter in the party in a while. Meanwhile, the Democratic primary in Maryland appears to be de-stabilizing as Congressman David Trone’s racial gaffe appears to have deterred several lawmakers from his campaign into the hands of another lawmaker who may be considered the weaker … Continue reading 2024 Senate Election Predictions, 3-31-2024, Tammy Murphy (D-NJ) Drops Senate Bid, Andy Kim (D-NJ) Becomes Frontrunner In Senate Race

The House Always Wins, 3-24-2024, The Status Of The 2024 House Races So Far

There have been several new developments regarding the House of Representatives in the past few weeks that are worth talking about. With a few major congressional primaries having now concluded, the general feeling of what to expect from the primary season can be summarized barring a major intervention or lack thereof from the NRCC. In addition to the Senate, the NRCC is learning that where it directly intervenes on behalf of a stronger candidate, the party is inclined to perform better where the DCCC will attempt to influence the party voters to choose weaker candidates to make Democratic odds better. … Continue reading The House Always Wins, 3-24-2024, The Status Of The 2024 House Races So Far

2024 Senate Election Predictions, 3-24-2024, Updates on The 2024 Senate Elections

There have been new developments in the Senate that are worth commenting on that have happened this week. In the Ohio Senate primary, to the delight of incumbent Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Republicans nominated Bernie Moreno (R-OH) as their Senate nominee for 2024 helping to keep the seat more competitive than it needed to be. In new polling, the Maryland Senate race appears to be deeply competitive with Democrats David Trone and Angela Alsobrooks both performing poorly in comparison to former Governor Larry Hogan (R-MD) in the staunchly Democratic state. Also, other polling in battleground states is showing closely fought contests … Continue reading 2024 Senate Election Predictions, 3-24-2024, Updates on The 2024 Senate Elections

State Legislative Politics, 3-24-2024, The Lawsuit That Could End New Jersey’s County Line System

The union line in New Jersey is unique compared to the rest of the United States in the fact that preferential party opinion grants preferential ballot placement when candidates are listed. Contrasted to the randomized ordering that is usually commonplace in most other states, the parties of New Jersey delights in what would be considered as an open admission of making ballots biased towards preferred candidates and discouraging other choices by having parties get to have a say in ordering. This has been especially true this election cycle in New Jersey where the Democratic primary to potentially succeed Bob Menendez, … Continue reading State Legislative Politics, 3-24-2024, The Lawsuit That Could End New Jersey’s County Line System

2024 Senate Election Predictions, 3-17-2024, Updates from Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Ohio, and Pennsylvania

With the Senate elections drawing closer, there has been new polling that has been done that should give some hope to Republicans that they can flip the Senate from Democratic control. This comes as Democrats are poised to spend $2.7 million on advertisements to boost Bernie Moreno in the Ohio Senate primary because they view him as less electable than the other two candidates. This also comes as other races are starting to come into focus in places such as Maryland, Minnesota, and New Jersey where the stakes are less high, but there are the oddball chances of possible competitive … Continue reading 2024 Senate Election Predictions, 3-17-2024, Updates from Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Ohio, and Pennsylvania
