2024 Libertarian Presidential Primary Banter, 4-21-2024, The Party Still Rests At 2% Nationally Despite Constant Controversy

Whenever different states are being polled regarding third-party performances that could take votes away from either Donald Trump or Joe Biden, the Libertarian vote continues to surprise me. After having suffered through the financial woes of dealing with the Mises Caucus, the internal fighting with the left-libertarians like Joshua Reed Eakle wanting to fight easy battles instead of incursions on civil liberties coming from the left, and the general disarray of horrible statements regarding child labor, John McCain, and January 6th, there are still 2% of voters who are still saying they will vote Libertarian. In particular, the polling has … Continue reading 2024 Libertarian Presidential Primary Banter, 4-21-2024, The Party Still Rests At 2% Nationally Despite Constant Controversy

2024 Senate Election Predictions, 4-21-2024, Updates On The 2024 Senate Races

This past week had a few notable updates regarding the Senate that are worth noting. The polling is showing that the GOP candidates are running very close to Democratic incumbents or frontrunners in states like New Jersey and Wisconsin, while the situation in Arizona with Kari Lake has the potential to backslide into Republican failure further down-ballot. The trial regarding embattled Senator Bob Menendez has the potential to drag his wife into taking the fall for the both of them with the Senator facing steep legal odds in his bid for another Senate term. Let’s get to the stories.             … Continue reading 2024 Senate Election Predictions, 4-21-2024, Updates On The 2024 Senate Races

Foreign Politics, 4-21-2024, Updates On Austria, Germany, Israel, South Korea, and South Africa

There have been multiple updates regarding electoral politics from around the world that are worth commenting on. In Austria, the fate of the governing coalition in the federal government could come down to two parties that wouldn’t otherwise be thought of as serious political parties determining the balance of power. In Germany, the Alternative for Deutschland party is officially starting to come down from it’s sugar high after various European parties of similar types announced that they couldn’t work with them or distanced themselves. In Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu would be poised to lose the next parliamentary election if it were … Continue reading Foreign Politics, 4-21-2024, Updates On Austria, Germany, Israel, South Korea, and South Africa

The House Always Wins, 4-21-2024, Updates On The 2024 House Races

There were some updates from last week from the House of Representatives that were worth commenting on. The recent pressure placed on the lawmakers who voted to oust Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House appears to be mounting as financial resources appear to be lining up behind the primary challengers to two of the prominent names. This comes as polling and fundraising also suggest that two Democratic “Squad” members are at great risk of being primaried from the center of the Democratic Party. Also, a new retirement from the House of Representatives has opened a safe Republican seat in … Continue reading The House Always Wins, 4-21-2024, Updates On The 2024 House Races

The House Always Wins, 4-21-2024, A Worst Case Scenario Guide Heading To May 14th, 2024 Regarding Primaries

I’ve covered the bulk of the major stories metastasizing in Republican and Democratic circles in the last article for this week dealing with the House, but I wanted to comment on every House primary that could conceivably fall apart for the GOP leading up to May 12th, 2024. While I don’t expect (and hope not) that every one of these hypothetical primary situations plays out in the worst way possible, the last few scares and the upcoming primary run-off between Brandon Herrera and Congressman Tony Gonzalez give reason to believe that there might be danger in the primaries for Republican … Continue reading The House Always Wins, 4-21-2024, A Worst Case Scenario Guide Heading To May 14th, 2024 Regarding Primaries

The House Always Wins, 4-14-2024, Updates From New Jersey’s 8th Congressional District Primary (and Possible Gubernatorial Primary Match-Ups)

While Bob Menendez, Sr. is dealing with his own legal troubles and potential vanity bid for the Senate that will grift New Jersians for funds in exchange for money to finance his legal defense fund, I mean, his Senate campaign, his son Robert Menendez is facing a spirited primary of his own from Ravi Bhalla (D-NJ) which is well-funded and encouraged by some who are already frustrated by the former’s nepotic rise to Congress. The two men should be characterized as different entities until otherwise proven connected in any meaningful way as the sins of the father don’t implicate the … Continue reading The House Always Wins, 4-14-2024, Updates From New Jersey’s 8th Congressional District Primary (and Possible Gubernatorial Primary Match-Ups)

Late Week Election Round-Up, 4-14-2024, Updates From The House, Senate, and Governor Elections (2024 and 2026 Elections)

There were some stories to conclude the past week in politics regarding the House, Senate, and Governor races happening in 2024 and 2026. In the House, the GOP’s mainstream fundraising arm has announced the battleground candidates that they were supporting versus the other members who were more solid in their bets for re-election. In the Senate, a myriad of polling is showing competitive Senate races in places where the races shouldn’t theoretically be competitive. Regarding the gubernatorial elections, North Carolina’s election is showing signs of movement as the baggage surrounding Lt. Governor Mark Robinson appears to be roosting around his … Continue reading Late Week Election Round-Up, 4-14-2024, Updates From The House, Senate, and Governor Elections (2024 and 2026 Elections)

Cabinet, 4-14-2024, The Early Conversations Around Barbara Lee (D-CA) As HUD Secretary Don’t Seem That Promising

The California Senate primary had two main losers beyond the usual downfall story of Congresswoman Katie Porter’s future star being shattered by allegations of “rigging” elections, not knowing the difference between Adam Schiff using his dark money tactics better than Porter and actual rigging. The second loser was Barbara Lee who petitioned Gov. Gavin Newsom that not choosing a black woman for the Senate seat to replace Dianne Feinstein was something involving racism, the black woman in the scenario usually being her. Obviously, that didn’t happen, and it appears that in a strange bout of irony, Californians overwhelmingly preferred two … Continue reading Cabinet, 4-14-2024, The Early Conversations Around Barbara Lee (D-CA) As HUD Secretary Don’t Seem That Promising

Foreign Politics, 4-7-2024, The 2024 Turkish Local Elections

One of the main electoral events for 2024 that I haven’t commented on in heavy detail have been the Turkish mayoral elections which are being seen as the next major test of President Recep Erdogan’s power at the polls. Towing the line between an Islamist autocrat and a duly elected leader, Erdogan has been hit with a number of damaging stories regarding his handling of the earthquakes in Eastern Turkey and Syria coupled with rising inflation. Thus, the recent mayoral elections were seen as a chance for a reset for his ruling AKP party to get in control of elected … Continue reading Foreign Politics, 4-7-2024, The 2024 Turkish Local Elections

The Statesman, 4-7-2024, Valentina Gomez (R-MO), The Most Fringe Candidate Running For Statewide Office In Missouri (Why Democrats Would Try To Bolster Her In A GOP Primary To Flip The Secretary of State Office)

I thought the fearmongering over QANON would go away for good now that Jo Ann Perkins hadn’t been in the news for the longest time, but I had too much hope. Valentina Gomez, one of the Republicans running for the open Secretary of State in Missouri, has spent a disproportionate amount of her political energy on evangelical messaging ahead of the Republican primary instead of focusing on issues that are usually relevant to the Secretary of State office. Who needs to know that elections will be handled competently when your Secretary of State might be a crusader in the modern … Continue reading The Statesman, 4-7-2024, Valentina Gomez (R-MO), The Most Fringe Candidate Running For Statewide Office In Missouri (Why Democrats Would Try To Bolster Her In A GOP Primary To Flip The Secretary of State Office)
